Pantelis has been with ABS for 15 years, and is currently located in State of Qatar, as the Director of Business Development for Qatar.

In his current role Pantelis is responsible for new business/clients as well as managing/leveraging existing accounts for the marine and offshore market sector within his region. He also contributes to strategic initiatives and planning within the ABS products and services.

He has been in a number of different roles, and locations around the globe, which make his profile highly diversified. In his last role he was the Regional Director of Business Development for ABS Group, responsible for the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region.

During his time with ABS he has played a critical role in the global delivery and development of risk and reliability products. He has also worked in Houston as the Manager of Strategy and Business Development for Global Marine, in South Korea with new construction projects as a Senior Surveyor and in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a Senior Surveyor.

Pantelis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Information Technology Management from Drexel University, and a Master’s Degree in International Transportation Management from the University of NY, Maritime College.

Vivek Balagopal is an Electrical and Automation professional who has been in the marine industry for over 35 years.

He started his career in the Indian Public sector with the manufacture of computers and controllers used in CNC machines.

He soon moved to the private sector and specialized in Electrical and Automation systems .

He has been located in the UAE since 1980s with vast experience in Automation works, before joining Wartsila in 2008.

His expertise is focused on control, power, automation and later to integrated systems with the use of PLC’s and dedicated microcontrollers.

He is now working mainly on Battery Hybrid’s and systems which help reduce the carbon footprint of vessels, comply with current & future regulations and decarbonise the maritime industry.

Rahul is the Managing Partner and founder of the Firm. As part of his practice, he provides legal services to a wide range of corporate and institutional clients. He has represented the several corporates in major transactions as a lead negotiator/ attorney/ external counsel.

Rahul has counselled and negotiated on behalf of local and multinational clients major business transactions and projects. He has advised clients on a range of contentious issues including international corporate commercial transactions, banking and insurance matters along with mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Rahul frequently advises on exchange control regulations, foreign investments in Qatar and India, outbound investments from Qatar, incorporation of entities in Qatar, power and infrastructure projects, and other general corporate matters. He also advises companies for issue and dealing of securities in the primary and secondary market along with setting up of funds.

Rahul has also advised several start-ups with incorporation and complying with applicable laws and is empaneled with the Qatar Development Bank and the Ministry of Transport and Communication as an advisor to their Digital Incubation Centre (DIC). He also regularly chairs sessions organized by DIC and QBIC to assist start-ups to do business in Qatar.

As part of his arbitration and litigation practice, he represented numerous entities in local and international arbitration matters which includes leading insurance and holding companies in Qatar. He has also successfully defended his clients in several litigation matters in the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC).

His clientele list covers various jurisdictions including the U.S.A, GCC, Singapore, U.K., Sweden, India, Cayman Islands, BVI, etc. His clients are spread across various industry sectors like government, financial institutions, pharmaceutical and healthcare, real estate, entertainment, and sports.

Rahul has an LLB degree from the National University of Juridical Science, India

Sandeep Padhi is a Marine Engineering professional who has been in the marine industry for over 20 years.

He started his career as a ship board marine engineer and later moved to Wartsila in U.A.E. in 2009 with engine service division having varied experience on both 2 & 4 stroke engines.

Currently as a Business Development Manger in Wartsila Marine Power, his focus is towards supporting customers in their New Build programs and developing decarbonization solutions for existing vessels.

Capt. Deepak Singh is a Master Mariner by qualification. After acquiring sailing experience on ocean going cargo vessels and on offshore support vessels serving the offshore Oil and Gas industry, he quit sailing in 2007. Since 2007 he has been working in the UAE as Marine Consultant/Principal Surveyor with leading MWS Firms like LOC, Noble Denton and DNVGL. Since 2015 he joined the Aries group as Chief Operating Officer for the Survey division. He has been involved in several heavy lift loadouts and transportations over the last 15 years with the heaviest being the 13,500 MTs+ MOPU. He has also approved several high value oceans to wages of MODUs and FPSOs. He is also an accredited inspector with the OVID program from OCIMF.
